Synthetic dyes are commonly used for graphite depression in polymetallic flotation circuits; however, these dyes can be very expensive. The aim of this study is to evaluate performance of certain lowcost alternative depressants for a complex leadzinc (PbZn) ore rich in graphite (GrC) on a conventional mini pilotscale flotation circuit.
This study has been conducted to better understand the phenomenon of graphite flotation in cast irons. It is well-known that graphite flotation occurs in sufficiently hypereutectic compositions of ductile cast iron, accompanied by the formation of exploded graphite.
